First Pals- Last scrapper standing layout

Taking a little break today from the counterfeit kit challenge layouts I've been posting to post about the Last scrapper standing challenge I am in at Memorable Seasons , my favorite online shopping store!

I've made it to round 5 and this layout is what pushed me in!

The challenge was to use paint! I was inspired by a layout I saw in Elizabeth Kartchner's
52 challenges book where she had strips of tape and paper around edges. It sparked an idea in me to use paint instead!
You'll also notice some paint on the stars and on the scalloped edgeing!

And there is my two babies poking out from under the table with huge grins on their faces!

As always thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any new friends becoming followers!
Have a Happy Friday and stay cool out there! We'll reach 112 today in Phoenix!

Happy for Dad

Today's layout, is number five for the counterfeit kit challenge using Shimelle's inspiration to help make a kit!

Here's a review of what the kit I made looks like!
Here is the 5th layout for this kit!
It features my pup, Finley(my tripod dog!) waiting for my husband to come home from work! She's always eager for his arrival so they can play catch!

I was so happy to see that my embellishments included that cute dog sticker which inspired the whole layout!

As always thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any new friends becoming new followers!
Have a happy Thursday!

3's company

Here is my 4th layout for the counterfeitkitchallenge blog
that has chosen to use Shimelle's inspiration of developing our own kits from our stash.

3's company, at least that's what it seems to be when these three girls are together!
A simple layout that allowed me to highlight my photo and use only three of the scraps of patterned paper and minimal embellishments to help me stretch my kit even further!

As always I really appreciate you stopping by, I'd appreciate any new friends becoming followers.
Have a happy Wednesday!

It's my birthday!

Well, no not really- but that is what my 3rd layout in the Shimelle inspired kit challenge is titled!
I'm so enjoying the fun colors in this homemade kit!

I wanted to document all the little gifts that were left on work desk when I walked into work on my birthday! Such a sweet group of coworkers and friends I work with- it really started my day off with a bang!

As always, thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any new friends becoming followers!

Another homemade kit and Layout 1

Hello! It's been a busy week but I'm back with the 2nd of my Shimelle inspired kits! I loved using so much of my stash the first time around I thought I would develop a 2nd! And what a surprise to see it that this coincided with the Counterfeit kit challenge as well!
Here's my kit!
A great mix of turquoise, yellows, reds, and oranges! It was and is a fun mix to work with and got me to pull out some embellishments and vintage pp that had been stashed away!

Here is layout #1 featuring my double duty daughter- texting and and computer surfing at the same time. These kids are so tech savy- it's scary!
A very simple layout and I like how quickly it came together!

As always thanks for stopping by!
I'd appreciate any new friends following me!
      Have a wonderful Saturday!

Go Conga

Yeah for me! The final layout I was able to create from my kit that was inspired by the Shimelle Challenge! You can scroll below and see all the previous layouts and the orginal kit I created for this challenge! I had a surprisingly good time working with the confinement of using only what I had. It really forced me to be creative! Here it is #9

You'll see my fun loving son in the white t-shirt just laughing it up in the conga line during the 7th grade dance. I love that their school website puts up photos for us parents- it lets me see the fun moments that I wouldn't normally catch.

Thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any new friends becoming followers! Have a great Tuesday!

Love you

Here is layout #8 from the Shimelle inspired kit challenge that I've been doing! I can't believe I've gotten 8 layouts done with this kit so far!

Featuring my son and his great smile! Love you babe!

Well, I'm down to scraps but I have one more layout to share tomorrow and then I'm calling the kit greatly used! I had such a great time with the first kit- I've developed another kit following the same guidelines! Can't wait to share it!

As always thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any new friends following me. Happy Monday!

Harry Potter Premiere

I made it to the 2nd round of the Last Scrapper Standing Contest over at Memorable Seasons, one of my favorite shopping places and boards! This weeks challenge was to use banners, borders or both on a layout.
My daughter and her friends getting ready to go in to the Harry Potter Premiere in 2010.

I saw a sketch, that influenced my layout but I can't for the life of me remember who did it! If I remember I'll come back to credit!

As always thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any new friends becoming followers!
Have a happy Thursday! I hope to be back soon with the remaining two layouts for the Shimelle inspired kit challenge!

Dad will you braid my hair?

Here is layout #7 for the Shimelle inspired kit challenge!
I decided to do a lot of fussy cutting on this one as my full pieces are becoming sparce!
I wanted to document my daughter's braid and how we both ask my husband to do the braiding for us! Such a great man he is!

I've got two more in the works then I think I can officially call the kit done! Stay tuned for those to be blogged in the next couple of days!

As always thanks for stopping by and if you like my work I'd appreciate any new friends and followers!
Have a great start of your week- Happy Monday!

Love Love Love You

I am back to post my 6th layout for the Shimelle inspired kit challenge! I took a mini break from the kit as it was getting old but have come back with a flourish and finished this one yesterday and have another in the works! Looks like I may finish this kit off after all!

Here are a couple of pictures of my son who, as I was working on this yesterday said, "Oh I remember those pictures. You were practicing taking pictures in good light." How I love that he remembered this! It's hard to see but I caught those words just under the photo mat!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday!

It's a happy kind of day

I needed to take a mini break from the Shimelle inspired kit challenge I've been working on so I decided to work on my layout for the Memorable Seasons last scrapper standing Week 1 challenge. I also decided to use a sketch from Jenny Evans of Creative Scrappers and enter it into the Sunshine Crop they were having today(Saturday).  Stop by both sites to see more about the Last Scrapper Standing and the sketch that I used!

The challenge at Memorable Seasons was a simple one this week-they will get progressively harder- and the challenge was to use the colors red, yellow and blue predominately in a layout! I chose to do this layout featuring my parents.

As always thanks for stopping by and looking at my work! I would appreciate any new friends who chose to follow me. Have a Happy rest of your weekend!
