Together Again

This makes layout #9 for Shimelle's  Perfect Collection class!
A simple layout that came together quickly with the addition of the using the negative portion of my alphas to add some weight and variety along the top. I also liked how this paper had some built in texture with the flowers along the bottom.
The photos feature me and my two(or should I say 3) best friends at our 10 year reunion. Unfortunately our 3rd best friend couldn't come so she is represented by the white sweater and the "hand".

As always, thanks for stopping by. I'd appreciate any comments or feedback and would love any new friends becoming followers.
Happy Tuesday!

Sam what a smile!

I'm back to posting my layouts from Shimelle Laine's Perfect Collection class!
This layout will be my 8th layout from the kit!

I struggled with this one a little and getting it to flow- but with the help of that fun confetti. I feel I achieved that flow I was looking for and it also broke up the boxy look too!

My nephew Sam, is such a character! He made everyone laugh by pretending he was a baby in a carseat. What a funny guy!

Baby Bath

My weekend break from posting my Perfect Collection layouts continues! I've been working with super old photos lately- my daughter is now 17 and I'm working on her first year pictures.
The pictures below are from her first bath.

I wanted to surround her pictures with the bubbles and pushed the big pink and smaller
blue bubble closer to where she lay, so small in the pictures, so hopefully your
eye would find glance there first.

In one picture she's happy and content the next, as she hit's the water, she is not!

Love you

I'm taking a mini break from posting my Perfect Collection layouts and thought I'd post this one featuring my daughter's first Halloween! I had been wanting to use this paper/stickers for something fallish and since we don't have a changing of leaves here in Phoenix-
Halloween was the next best thing.
I chose to use the doily to bring your eye up since the layout is so bottom heavy and with the addition of the mini border, leaf, and circle flower I was able to achieve a diagonal flow straight through where my daughter and husband are and down into the embellishments.
I'll be linking this layout up to Scrap Fit for their color challenge and also over at Ashli's blog at purplemailbox.com to her linky love post! Join in- there's still time to get your layouts posted!

As always thanks for stopping by, I'd appreciate any comments or feedback and would love for any new friends to become followers~!
Happy Saturday!

Playing Pretty Music

This is the seventh layout, that I did for the Perfect Collection class taught by Shimelle Laine.
At first the bottom 2/3rds was so bold and bright- I needed a way to break up the eye. By adding the strip of white and the doily I was able to achieve some place for your eye to rest and making it less overwhelming. I'm loving the addition of those old Hambly rubon birds as well-their symbolism just helps make the page!

My daughter, being a great lover of music, has been playing the piano since she was seven. It always makes me happy to hear the melodies of modern music coming from the living room. I think it's so cool that even though she hasn't taken lessons in years that she still enjoys it so.

Scary!

This layout was a rather simple one! I wanted to just highlight this photo of this cute but scary looking girl and the look on my son's face. To me it's pretty funny!

The pink paper had this circle on it, which when cut in half gave me an automatic frame for my photo and with the plaement of the the raw chipboard and the dangling spider border I lead your eye in to right where I want you to look. I threw in a little black and some bling and called it done!

Oh Snap

Oh snap, is my fifth layout for Shimelle's Perfect Collection class.  The photos feature me giving my daughter her first camera! A barbie camera at that! She has actually grown to have a great eye for photography and I'm happy to have started her off early at the age of 4!

Aren't those cameras cute? With the help of some easy scissor work and some older KI Memories paper they both came together so quickly!  I've been loving the current trend of the sprinkle/confetti look and decided to use some, near both cameras, for a little burst and to help complete my diagonal line bringing your eye across both photos.

Photographs

Pictures of me, Pictures of you. I felt that the subtitle fit this layout perfectly when highlighting these pictures of me, my husband and our best friends from highschool. Here we all are at our 10 year reunion in 1998- all fancied up and enjoying each others' company.

When working on this layout I stuggled a bit with what to put on the right hand side- it was just to dark. I was so glad to I decided to put this heart doily there. It worked perfectly in two ways- to symbolize my love for my friends and to help give me that visual triangle to lead your eye into my photos.

As always, thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any feedback and would love any new friends becoming followers!

Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink is the third layout I did for the The Perfect Collection class taught by Shimelle Laine.
I threw in a little washi tape under the jeweled floral to throw in some black "pop" and also added the bow to give a little more pink to the right side of the layout!
My pretty girl niece, with her little bowl haircut, decided to get under my counter and into my blush. Her whole face is covered in pink- hence the title! At 16 she is just as into makeup as she was at this age of 2!

Reunite

Hope everyone is enjoying there day so far! Here is another layout I did for the
I used some washi tape along the bottom with buttons on top covering some arrows I didn't want to use and also added in a pink special event ticket- to throw your eye across the photo!

Here I am, 2nd from the left, at my 10 year highschool reunion in 1998 posing with some old friends from grade school! It was a fun night and I'm happy to finally be documenting some of these pictures! Now that I think about it, I'm approching my 25th reunion next year- Scary!

Squeezy bug hug

A few weeks back I decided to splurge and take a class titled The Perfect Collection
by Shimelle Laine. The idea of the class is to take a paper collection you may have and by following the process you'll end up with a bunch of starting points for your layouts.
The class really appealed to me because I knew I would get lots of layouts done quickly and since I was working with a lot of older, not so perfect, photos I felt it would encourage me to not overthink things and just get my layouts done.
I didn't have a paper collection but did have two incomplete kits, that were given to me by a friend, that when merged together provided exactly what I needed! Follow along for the next many days as I highlight the 15 pages I was able to complete in 1 week by taking this class!

Don't you just love a good hug? My daughter sure loves giving them!
Here she is showing some love to my niece by giving her a big Squeezy bug hug!

Be all that you dream to be

I did the layout for the Last Scrapper Standing challenge at Memorable Seasons
The challenge was to use masking. I chose to mask with the older Heidi Swapp floral mask and then cut out the flowers to use as embellishments. I combined the flowers with some older Elsie pattern paper and some newer Amy Tangerine paper. Though this layout didn't get me to the next round- I'm still happy with the way it turned out!
Don't forget I have a Guest Blogger post up at the Memorable Seasons blog
It's about where I get some of my inspiration for titles. Go by and check it out!

15 and loved

A quick layout of my daughter as she turned 15 last year.
I recycled the tag from a gift I received- I added my own touch to it and made it my own by adding the numbers to it, changing the ribbon and turning it on it's side for this layout. The hearts make a nice little arrow towards my daughter.

I hope you'll also notice the pen work.
Sometimes when I have an empty spaced pattern I like to add pen work to it - it add's a special touch and makes the area pop!

I ended up doing this page for one of the LSS challenges at Memorable Seasons. The challenge was to doodle.I guess you could say what I did was a contained and structured doodling!

We rock La Jolla

I got 8 layouts out of the kit I made from my stash and it felt so good to use up a great amount on a fun concept like Shimelle's kit challenge! Since this is my second go around on making the kits- I'm giving it a break but look forward to using the concept again- maybe to make a couple of kits for when we travel!

Here are me and my kids standing at the exit of this cave at La Jolla Beach. We wanted to be closer to the sealions so we ventured into this tunnel/cave and my husband got this shot.
I love how the Sassafrass lass borders add texture without me having to do anything and I thought the wave paper went well considering we are at the beach!

Have a great Friday! I start a 3 week long vacation today! Yay!!!

Cookies for Dad

Just a quick share of layout #7 from the kit that I made inspired by Shimelle's NSD video!
I'm winding down and have one more layout to share- for this challenge- after this one!

Also... Stay tuned for August! I'm participating in my 1st blog hop for Scrapbook Steals .
Super excited to show off the product I'll be working with!

Cookie for Dad is always great! Just wanted to share this Father's Day memory!
I love the special touches added by the Sassafrass hearts and border- they really help a page pop!

Class Pride

The layout I am sharing today is #6 for the Shimelle inspired kit that I have been working out of! I can't believe how many layouts you can truly get out of one kit and it really brings into perspective purchasing kits and how if they are used wisely you can get a lot done! If I ever work through all this stash I think I'll start up with a kit club again!
My daughter is pretty artistic and took part, her Sophomore year, in developing both her class banners. One for Homecoming and one for the Spring Fling. The "Nemo" is all her drawing and painting and the M&M's was her idea and a lot of handiwork with her and her group to cut out felt to make the shapes.

This layout came together quickly for me as you can tell! Some mist a title, a border strip, flower, brad and a 2x4 strip of paper! Voila- done!

As always thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any new friends becoming followers!
Have a wonderful Sunday !
