Love

Here is layout #5 for the Shimelle inspired kit challenge! I'm enjoying the kit so far but am realizing I am gathering towards the brighter colors of the kit and what I'm soon to be left with are the browns and creams of the kit. Uh, oh- I hope I can get creative with the scraps and mixing them with those browns!

I wanted to document the fact that I planned a bridal shower for a friend at work. I always enjoy the organization of parties so this was right up my alley. My photo shows the party favor that I made.
I decided to cut out a few of those butterflies that were on the edges of the patterned paper and use those pieces to my advantage by tucking them in here and there within the layout. I used a full butterfly in the middle and highlighted it with three simple black brads to make it a little more noticeable.
As always thanks for stopping by! I appreciate all visitors and if you like my work I appreciate you adding yourself as one of my followers!
Have a Happy Wednesday!

My Sweet Valentines

Well, after a small break I'm posting layout #4 for Shimelle's insired kit challenge. You can scroll down below and check out the other layouts and the challenge!

A picture of my kids on Valentines 2010! I made use of several small pieces of the kit and stamped my huge heart! It didn't come out as bright as I would have liked so I pulled out a paint pen and outlined it! I have plenty more to show you so stay tuned!

As always thanks for stopping by! I appreciate you for checking out my work!
Have a happy Monday!

You are your mother's daughter

Here it is my third layout for the Shimelle Inspired Kit Challenge!
Two photos showing my daughter's organization and how she makes lists just like her mom does! We certainly don't want to forget anything!

I'm again trying to be resourceful and used the "notes to self" tab from the scrap white product strip that I normally just cut off my patterned paper and throw away. I'm glad I saved it because it made a great extra accent. I also cut a few stars from a small strip of the star paper I had and used them along the top to add a little something.

As always I appreciate you stopping by! If you like my work I'd love any new friends to follow!
Have a great Friday!!

8th grade

Here is my second layout for the Shimelle Inspired Kit Challenge that I am participating in. I'm actually really enjoying it- it's quite liberating to know you only have a certain set of items to use and it certainly has helped me to scrap quicker!

This layout is of my son on the 1st day of 8th grade!
Without many embellishments I have to do what I can to draw the eye into the photos in other ways. I used the back side of the floral paper and stamped the star to draw your eye up to the top where my son's face was and cut up a journal sticker and threw the brads on them to lead your eye into the second photo. The pop of color at the bottom is a small strip of the floral I had left over- it was perfect to add that little something yet you couldn't tell it was girly!
As always thanks for stopping by! I appreciate you visiting and if you like what you see- I'd appreciate any new followers!
Have a great Tuesday!

10th grade

I wanted to share my first layout based on the Shimelle Kit Inspired Challenge! You can scroll down and see the kit I made from my stash!

And here is my 1st layout. My daughter ready for school on her 1st day of 10th grade!
The light blue borders are the flip side of the floral paper and I was happy enough to see that on the border sheet I chose to use- there were numbers I could use!

I was resourceful and cut out the "th" from the word thursday which was also part of the borders! Loving the fact that I chose these borders because those extra words and letters are going to come in great handy to spice up the title situation a bit!

As always thanks for coming by! If you like my work I'd appreciate any new followers!               Have a great Monday!

Inspired by Shimelle Challenge

During National Scrapbooking weekend Garden Girl Shimelle Laine put together a kit from her stash and decided to scrap as many layouts as she could with it. After watching her Video- maxing out a set of supplies one of the two peas members-Jennifer at live teach create decided to come up with a challenge that followed Shimelle's lead and asked others to join in with her! Here is the kit I created from my stash-

As you can see it's a very simple kit! I chose to substitute 2 of the cardstock pieces for patterned paper as I usually use patterned paper for my background. As for the embellishments I have black brads, some Heidi Swapp tape, Heidi Swapp stamp, the journal card and the Jenni Bowlin Journal stickers.

Wish me luck as I venture into using this kit this weekend! I'm usually a pretty simple scrapper but this even simpler kit has me a little intimadated but definately inspired and challenged

Halloween 2010

The final challenge for  the Memorable Seasons crop was to follow this sketch from
Sketchy Thursdays.
I thought I might have some difficulty since the misting and smallness of the photos but I made it work and the layout came togethe very quicky!
Image
Some mist, some chipboard embellishments, my mini alphas and my photos was all it took!
The pictures are from Halloween 2010 you'll see my husband dressed up as a football player, my pup Finley wearing her red bow tie and Me- sneaking some candy!

As always, thanks for stopping by and if you like my work I'd appreciate any new followers! Have a great day!

Here is when it counts

Challenge number 5 at Memorable Seasons was to use some type of numbers on your layout. I chose to us some Crate paper to incorporate into this challenge

My son working out with weights and becoming a stronger athlete.
You'll notice the numbers paper I used made by Crate. I couldn't figure out a title to tie the paper in to the page together. Noah came to rescue and it worked!

You Nerd- Challenge 4

Though the crop ended this past Sunday I'll still keep sharing my layouts! Challenge 4 at Memorable Seasons was to make something handmade and place it on your layout! Here is my
layout titled You Nerd
What I decided to make was the tag that is holding part of my title. I cut out the shape from a journaling card and added some sparkly paper, a couple of ribbons and stacked some older doodlebug flowers and called it done.

This layout features my daughter dressed up as a nerd for Halloween 2010.

As always thanks for stopping by and if you like my work I'd appreciate any new followers! Thanks and have a great day!

Always bringing me Joy Abriana

Here is my layout that I did for the Memorable Seasons Challenge 3 and the My scraps and more Challenge 7. Yeah- I was able to double dip again!

The layout features my daughter headed to the Homecoming dance(a not so fancy
 affair at her school).
My challenge at Memorable seasons was to use the colors, pink, aqua, green, and black. The challenge at My scraps and more was to use a bouquet or bundle of flowers.

As always thanks so much for stopping by! If you like my work please consider being a follower- I'd appreciate it!

Memorable Seasons Challenge 2/My Scraps and more Challenge 1

I was able to combine the 2 challenges into one layout for today! Don't you love when you can double dip?! The Memorable Seasons challenge was to use a favorite technique while the My Scraps and More challenge was to use each letter in the word MOTHER to stand for something. Here is my layout combining the two!
One of my favorite techniques is to take your scissors and cut tightly around the edge of the shell of a used alpha on your alpha sheet. Using just the outline of the letter that is left you can create a whole new set of alphabets like you see here in the letter T!
To fulfill the second part of the challenge- MOTHER stands for Matted photo, Orange, T- two of them, H- hat above the "o", E-embellishment- swirlys, and R-ribbon type strips!
As always thanks for stopping by!
Happy Mother's Day!

Memorable Seasons and My scraps and More Crop

I'll have a few pages to share for the next couple of days as I participate in two different week long crops- Memorable Seasons and My scraps and more  it's not to late to join in at either if you feel like you need a boost in your creativity!

The first challenge at Memorable Seasons was to use the same manufacturer but blend two different lines! I chose MME and blended the Abbey Road and Quite Contrary lines- by using the backsides as well I was able to make it look like 4 pp's instead of 2!
I asked my family what they thought of how I looked in this photo hence- my title!
As always thanks for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with another layout!

How was your National Scrapbook Day?

I hope you all had a great time celebrating National Scrapbook Day! I spent the time here at home working on challenges that were up at The Scraproom and at Twopeasinabucket . The Scraproom had three challenges that were due yesterday so they on my list of pages to do first- I was able to combine all three with those at Two peas so I was able to double duty!

The Scraproom challenge was to follow a sketch and the Two Peas challenge was to use turq/yellow/and avocado green. This layout features the rental we had in San Diego.

The second layout the Scraproom challenge was to use strips no more than 2 inches wide while the Two Peas challenge was to lift one of their "morph" challenge layouts.

This layout is of my daughter and my husband staying cool along the beach.

Layout 3 had me using the Scraproom Challenge- use the word memory or memories in your layout, the Two Peas challenge- use a chevron pattern and the 3 scrappy boys challenge of using a sketch they provided
Here is my son in each photo with two of his cousins!

Thanks as always for stopping by! I plan to do some more scrapping today and extend NSD to NS weekend and hope you have time to do so as well!
