Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by!
It's my first time joining in on the Social [Media] Butterflies blog hop!
This month we had a two part challenge. One was to to use this color palette:
and the second was to take inspiration from one of our fellow members.
The member I was inspired by was Ellie! She had a sweet and simple card with a doily here and it inspired me to add that extra special touch of a doily on my page!

We hope you enjoy our projects this month, and have a giveaway for a lucky blog hopper-- one of our own Social Butterflies is opening a SHOP!

Introducing: Rukristin Papercrafts: The Shop!

Before it opens, we are giving away Two Brand New Sets of Journaling Cards: 'Days of the Week' and 'Boy + Girl'. All you have to do is comment, follow or tweet using the hashtag #SMBiGbloghop, letting us know which of those you do--

Mcdonalds

Another quick layout featuring me and my family at Mcdonald's about 15 years ago! I did this layout as part of a challenge at Memorable Seasons where we had to use  a 3 or more photo cluster. These photos I chose were not the best but I believe in documenting what you have and I didn't want to forget those looks on my childrens faces! It came together quickly with that pre-made border paper by Amy Tan, a few tickets and those stripes of Washi.

29

Just a quick layout to share today! I did this for the Numbers challenge at Memorable Seasons. We had to use numbers in three different ways.
You'll notice my title, my date, and the number on the ticket!
This layout features my husband as he turned 29! It's so nice re-living these old memories- he is now 42!

Oh So little

The first challenge I decided to work on for the crop at Memorable Seasons was the Stamp It challenge. We needed to stamp the background and also use a stamp as one embellishment.

I decided to stamp green strips of cardstock with a floral print and use them like a wall paper along the background. You'll also see my cute stamped smily face flower as my embellishment.
The layout features my, now 17 year old daughter, at the age of 1 1/2 taking a bath!

Sweet Pea

I'm participating in a Members give the challenges crop that started today over at Memorable Seasons. Challenges are due next Wednesday and there are 13 fun challenges up to help get you scrapping! Join in- there are prizes involved by some of the participants and also by the store!
It'll be fun and help get your scrappin' mojo going!

My challenge is called the No peeking challenge. You go to your patterned paper, close your eyes-No peeking- and blindly pick three patterned papers! The challenge is to use all three patterns you choose on a layout! Cardstock is allowed to ground your photos and anything else goes!
Fun huh?? It really allows you to stretch your creative muscle as you work to get those papers to work together!
Here are the three sheets I blindly chose:
and here is how I made them work on a layout for me:
Not to shabby right?

As always thanks for stopping by! I appreciate any comments or feedback on my work and would love any new friends becoming followers!
Happy Friday! If your looking for some fun join us at Memorable Seasons for a fun weekend!

Hamburger Heaven

I did this layout for a challenge over at Memorable Seasons last month. The challenge was to use only one embellishment. I considered my one embellishment to be the red washi tape across the middle. The rest was all paper! I love how the mixture of paper all came together to just make that photo stand out!

The photo features the cupcake hamburgers I made for my daughter's birthday a few years back! Aren't they yummy looking? You can't beat a cupcake with a brownie circle in the middle that is topped with gooey frosting! They were a big hit and my daughter just loved them!!

Scrapbook Steals Blog Hop- Mister Huey's Color Mists

You've reached the second to last stop in this months Scrapbook Steals blog hop! They are my favorite online retailer for discounted scrapping supplies! One lucky commenter will be drawn from one of the participating blogs to win a $20 gift certificate! So make sure you comment on all the blogs for the most chances to win! Also...make sure you check out my giveaway down below!

The product we are featuring this month is the Studio Calico Mr. Huey's Mists!

A huge thank you to Scrapbook Steals for introducing me to this fun color- Passport!
I chose to use it, in a non-typical spray on the page way, for both of my layouts.

The first layout, I gave a few squirts to a canvas star and also to some wooden stars and the nice navy color took beautifully to both!

And my second layout, featuring the same Passport color, I used it in more of a painty way- dabbing it on to the embossable border and the waves! Don't you love that great color?!
As always I appreciate you coming by! I'd appreciate any new friends becoming followers- but it's not necessary to win the prize- but of course I'd love it if you did!

I've decided to do a little giveaway of 3 Momenta Design Your Own Sticker packs! A fun scrolly design and two alphas- all that can be personalized right on the Momenta site-they can be yours for leaving some feedback or a comment!
I'll do a drawing Monday morning from those who commented over the weekend and the winner will post here on my blog Tuesday!
My thanks for stopping by my blog and for the last stop head on over to Scrapbook Steals
Happy Weekend!!

Muscles Mcgee

Here I am at the end, the 15th layout, I created from the starting points I learned about from Shimelles Perfect Collection class! What's a girl to do when she's completed 15 layouts from one kit? Well, she starts over and does it again with a small twist! On my next set, I decided to mix together a homemade kit and throw in some 6x6 pages in there to help with layering, open up some options for starting points and to further use my stash!! I'm having fun so far!

This layout features my daughter with some socks put under her shirt to act as muscles! Muscles Mcgee is still a term I use today- therefore I thought it would be fun to make it the title.
I realized what I really liked about this class, is that it really led to a linear look which is just my style. I used the straight long orange strip as my shelf to place my photo and embellishments on. I could have moved everything up some but liked that I could cover up enough of the bright orange so it brought you to my focus point but didn't take over the layout by it's brightness.

Please remember to stop by tomorrow as I'm in a blog hop for Scrapbook Steals!! It'll be a fun one with a prize being offered from Scrapbook Steals and  with prizes from many of the participating blogs too!

As always thanks for coming by! I'd appreciate any feedback or comments and would love any new friends becoming followers!
Happy Thursday! See you tomorrow for the blog hop!

Too Funny

My count is now 14 for Shimelle's Perfect Collection class! This layouts features a picture of my brother- and a small bit of journaling on how he always makes us laugh.

This layout is again a little more embellished than I normally get! As I got to the last layouts I did a little experimenting with using more embellishments. The simplest embellishment being that vertical strip of pattern paper that just brings your eye straight up and straight down to my brother.

Make sure you come back this weekend! I'll be participating in a blog hop for Scrapbook Steals! There's a great opportunity for a prize at Scrapbook Steals and I'll have a prize here on my blog as well!

As always, thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any feedback or comments and would love any new friends becoming followers!

Bath Buddies

Layout #13 for Shimelle's Perfect Collection  class! This one is not very typical of me! I usually don't use so many embellishments. But the layout was just too square and it needed lots of filling in to give it some type of flow. I loved the addition of the transparency frame. It gave my very bright white overflashed photo some structure with those bubbles and really helped focus the eye in on me and my babies!

As always thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any comments and feedback and would love any new friends becoming followers!

Got Juice

I'm always up for doing layouts that have a scrapbook challenge connected to them. They help get me started and motivated but once in a while I just scrap just because I feel like it, and this layout was one of those layouts!
The title came quickly, as you can see my son pretending to drink juice out of these empty juice bottles he was playing with. I broke up the structured square look a bit by adding those white tags and border and by putting the photos at an angle. I completed the look by adding all those pink buttons to help build a visual triangle!

As always thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any comments or feedback and would love any new friends becoming followers!
Happy Saturday!

There was a crooked lady

Here we are on Friday- with my 12th layout for Shimelle's Perfect Collection class! I still can't believe how many layouts I did with just the one kit I put together! I still have a few more to show you! Also stay tuned because next weekend I'll be participating in a hop for Scrapbook Steals - you'll have a chance at a great prize!

There was a crooked lady, features me and my crooked smile! My husband has always thought it was funny, how when I smile my mouth gets lobsided- so I decided to take his title and create this layout about me!

I chose to use a few visual triangles to help get your eye around my photos- those fun paisley swirls get your eyes right to my face and I hope those clusters of circles, buttons and bling lead your eyes around the layout as well!

As always, thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any comments or feedback and would love any new friends becoming followers!
Happy Friday!

A Cool Time

I round the corner into the double digits for the Perfect Collection class, as I hit page 10 and 11, with my layout titled A Cool Time!
This layout features my kids having some fun outdoor play while visiting in Flagstaff, AZ. They were all bundled up to keep warm- which is a rarity as we live in Phoenix- and I caught some great black/white photos of them.
I had the dilemma of having the left side of the layout being very heavy with that strong patterned paper I chose. I figured my solution was to add plenty of embellishments and a bigger title to the right to help balance it out a bit.  And hopefully that visual triangle of butterflies  moves your eye across the photos of my babies!

As always, thanks for stopping by! I'd appreciate any comments or feedback and would love any new friends becoming followers!
Happy Wednesday!
